The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPS&W) on June 22, 2026, issued a notification regarding enforcement of Jan Vishwas Act amendments to the Indian Ports Act, 2025.
The following has been stated:-
•The Central Government has notified July 01, 2026 as the date on which the relevant provisions of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 will come into force in relation to amendments made to the Indian Ports Act, 2025.
•These amendments correspond to Serial No. 80 of the Schedule to the Act.
•The notification has been issued under the powers conferred by Section 1(2) of the Jan Vishwas Act, 2026.
•The move operationalizes the specified port-sector reforms from the notified date.
