The Ministry of Coal on June 19, 2026, issued a notification regarding enforcement of Jan Vishwas Act Amendments to the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957.
The following has been stated:-
•The Central Government has notified that the provisions of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 relating to the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 shall come into force from June 20, 2026.
•The notification has been issued under Section 1(2) of the Act. The enforcement covers Serial No. 24 and the corresponding entries in the Schedule to the Jan Vishwas Act.
•This brings the specified amendments into effect with immediate applicability from the notification date.
