The Government of Rajasthan on June 15, 2026, issued a notification regarding prioritizing "Make in India" Products in Rajasthan Public Procurement.
The following has been stated:-
•The Finance Department of the Government of Rajasthan issued a circular to prioritize "Make in India" domestic goods and services in public procurement to align with the "Ease of Doing Business" initiative and promote self-reliance.
•The directive establishes strict distribution and purchase preference guidelines, providing specialized advantages to Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) within Rajasthan and Class-I local suppliers when bidding.
•To qualify as a Class-I local supplier, products must contain a minimum of 50% local content, while refurbished, resold, or rebranded imported goods are strictly excluded from this calculation.
•Bidders must provide a self-declaration of local content, and for procurements exceeding ₹10 crores, a certified auditor's certificate is mandatory to prevent fraudulent claims.
•Finally, procurement entities are instructed to design non-restrictive bidding conditions that support local manufacturers, though these preference regulations will not apply to small purchases below ₹5 lakhs.
