The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), on June 19, 2026, notified the commencement of provisions of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 relating to the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002.
Through the notification, the Central Government appointed June 19, 2026, as the date on which the amendments specified against Serial Number 55 of the Schedule to the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026, and the corresponding entries relating to the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002, shall come into force.
Accordingly, the amendments introduced under the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 concerning the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002 became effective from June 19, 2026.
