Commercial ComplianceThe National Highways Authority of India, on June 22, 2026, announced that National Highways Logistics Management Limited has directed its field offices to advise lessees of Wayside Amenities (WSAs) to prioritize the establishment of Vehicle Repair Shops and Puncture Repair Facilities along National Highways and Expressways.

The initiative is intended to improve the travel experience for highway users by ensuring timely access to mechanical assistance during vehicle breakdowns and emergencies. NHAI observed that additional vehicle repair and puncture repair services are required across several highway corridors to reduce delays, enhance road safety, minimize vehicle downtime, and support both commuters and freight operators.

NHLML is developing a network of modern Wayside Amenities under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Under existing lease agreements, Vehicle Repair Shops and Puncture Repair Facilities are among the permissible facilities that may be developed in addition to mandatory amenities. The move forms part of NHAI’s broader objective of creating integrated service hubs and delivering safe, user-centric, and world-class highway infrastructure across the country.
