The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), on June 22, 2026, notified the commencement of provisions of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 relating to the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
Through the notification, the Central Government appointed June 30, 2027 as the date on which the amendments specified against Serial Number 8 of the Schedule to the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026, and the corresponding entries relating to the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, shall come into force.
Accordingly, the amendments introduced under the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 concerning the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 will become effective from June 30, 2027, providing a transition period before the amended provisions take effect.
