The Union Territory Administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, on June 17, 2026, issued the Draft Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Regulation, 2026, to amend the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Town and Country Planning Act, 1974.
The following has been stated:-
•The Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Regulation, 2026, will come into force on a date notified by the Central Government.
•The amendment provides that the existing Development Plan shall continue to remain in force from the publication of a draft Development Plan until the new plan is officially notified.
•This ensures continuity in planning and land-use regulation during the transition period. Further, the Planning and Development Authority may permit the continued existing use of land for up to ten years, subject to prescribed conditions. The provision aims to facilitate a smooth implementation of revised development plans while safeguarding existing land uses.
