The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on June 15, 2026, notified regarding the Anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of Faced Glass Wool in Rolls originating in and exported from Egypt.
The following has been stated:
• The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has conducted an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of “Faced Glass Wool in Rolls” originating in or exported from Egypt following a petition filed by UP Twiga Fiberglass Limited, the sole domestic producer of the product in India.
• The product under consideration is used primarily as a thermal and acoustic insulation material in buildings, HVAC systems, transportation, shipbuilding, and industrial applications. The investigation examined whether Egyptian imports were being dumped into the Indian market at unfairly low prices and causing material injury to the domestic industry.
• The DGTR defined the scope of the product, adopted a Product Control Number (PCN) methodology for fair comparison of different product variants, and assessed issues relating to normal value, export price, dumping margin, injury to the domestic industry, and confidentiality of information submitted by interested parties.
• The authority concluded that the domestic producer constitutes the entire domestic industry for the product and proceeded with the investigation in accordance with the Anti-Dumping Rules to determine the need for anti-dumping measures.
