The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), on June 23, 2026, notified the commencement of provisions of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 relating to the Indian Antarctic Act, 2022.
Through the notification, the Central Government appointed September 30, 2026, as the date on which the amendments specified against Serial Number 76 of the Schedule to the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026, and the corresponding entries relating to the Indian Antarctic Act, 2022, shall come into force.
Accordingly, the amendments introduced under the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 concerning the Indian Antarctic Act, 2022 will become effective from September 30, 2026.
