The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoH&UA) on June 24, 2026, issued a notification regarding the enforcement of the Jan Vishwas Act Amendments relating to the Public Premises Act.
The following has been stated:-
•The Central Government has notified July 01, 2026, as the date from which the amendments relating to the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971, under the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026, will come into force.
•The notification is issued under Section 1(2) of the Act.
