The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on June 22, 2026, issued a notification regarding the removal of the Indian Mercantile Co-operative Bank from the Second Schedule.
The following has been stated:-
•The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has directed the exclusion of Indian Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd., Lucknow, from the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934, exercising its powers under Section 42(6)(b).
•This notification takes effect in accordance with the provisions of the RBI Act.
