The Ministry of Communications, on June 25, 2026, issued a notification regarding the activation of Intra-Circle Roaming in Arunachal Pradesh amid a disaster.
The following has been stated:-
•The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has activated Intra-Circle Roaming (ICR) in Keyi Panyor, Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, and West Siang districts of Arunachal Pradesh until June 28, 2026, following heavy rainfall, cloudbursts, and landslides.
•The measure enables mobile users to connect to any available telecom network when their home network is unavailable, ensuring uninterrupted communication during the disaster.
•The move follows extensive damage to telecom infrastructure, including exchanges and optical fibre cables, affecting connectivity in several areas.
•DoT is coordinating with telecom service providers to restore services, while users are advised to keep Automatic Network Selection enabled or manually select an available network if required.
