Labour ComplianceThe Government of Madhya Pradesh, on June 5, 2026, published the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the period January to March 2026 for various categories of workers and centres in the State. The circular provides the revised index values for use in wage revision and other statutory purposes.

The published indices cover All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers, All India Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers, and centre-specific Consumer Price Indices for Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, and Chhindwara. The indices have been provided under different base years, namely 1960=100, 1966=100, 1982=100, 1986–87=100, 2001=100, 2016=100, and 2019=100, as applicable to the respective category or centre, for the months of January, February, and March 2026.

The circular also notes that, in accordance with the Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment's Detailed Note dated July 18, 2025, the Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers has been shifted from the 1986–87=100 base series to the 2019=100 base series with effect from May 2025, with the new index series commencing from 133.09. The notified CPI values may be used by the concerned authorities and stakeholders for determining variable dearness allowance and other labour-related statutory calculations.
