Labour ComplianceThe Government of Maharashtra, on June 25, 2026, issued the Maharashtra Employment Guarantee (Viksit Bharat—Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission [Gramin] Scheme), 2026, under the Maharashtra Employment Guarantee Act, 1977, replacing the existing Scheme with effect from July 01, 2026.

The following has been stated:

The Scheme aligns the State's employment guarantee programme with the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision by providing 125 days of guaranteed wage employment to eligible rural households, while promoting sustainable rural development through creation of durable assets, water conservation, livelihood enhancement, rural infrastructure and climate-resilient works. It introduces a comprehensive framework for planning, implementation, institutional governance, digital monitoring, social audits, grievance redressal, wage payments, transparency, funding arrangements and convergence with Central and State Government schemes to ensure efficient and accountable execution of rural employment programmes.
