The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), on June 29, 2026, issued a notice amending the Designated Market Maker (DMM) framework for Index Futures contracts in the Equity Derivatives Segment. The amendments have been issued in continuation of the Exchange Notice dated April 22, 2026, and shall become effective from July 15, 2026.
Under the revised framework, the maximum permissible bid-offer spread for SENSEX, BANKEX, and Focused IT Index Futures contracts has been increased from 0.10% to 0.25% of the bid price. The revision provides greater flexibility to Designated Market Makers while continuing to facilitate liquidity in the Index Futures market.
The Exchange has clarified that all other provisions of the existing Designated Market Maker (DMM) framework for Index Derivatives contracts shall remain unchanged. Trading Members have been advised to refer to Annexure 1 for the detailed revised DMM guidelines applicable to the Equity Derivatives Segment.
