The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI) on June 23, 2026, notified regarding the Initiation of an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of “Para Nonylphenol originating in or exported from Russia and Taiwan”.
The following has been stated:
• The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of Para Nonylphenol (PNP) originating in or exported from Russia and Taiwan, following an application filed by SI Group India Private Limited. The applicant has alleged that dumped imports of PNP, a chemical intermediate used in various industrial applications, are causing material injury to the domestic industry through increased import volumes, price suppression, price depression and adverse impacts on profitability.
• The product under consideration is classified under Customs Tariff Heading 29071300, though the tariff classification is only indicative. The period of investigation (POI) has been fixed as April 01, 2025, to March 31, 2026, while the injury analysis will cover the period from April 01, 2022, to March 31, 2025.
• Based on the prima facie evidence, the DGTR has found sufficient grounds to examine the existence, extent, and impact of dumping and to determine whether the imposition of anti-dumping duty is warranted to remove the injury caused to the domestic industry.
• Interested parties, including exporters, importers, users and the Governments of the subject countries, have been invited to register and submit information through the SETU Portal within the prescribed timelines, with provisions for confidential and non-confidential submissions in accordance with the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 and the Anti-Dumping Rules, 1995.
