The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on June 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding the extension of the GSTAT Appeal Filing Deadline to July 31, 2026.
The following has been stated:-
•The Government has extended the last date for filing appeals before the GST Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) under Section 112 to July 31, 2026, from the earlier deadline of June 30, 2026.
•The extension has been granted following representations from stakeholders citing technical difficulties caused by a surge in filings on the GSTAT portal.
•Around 30,000 appeals were filed in the last 15 days, with daily filings peaking at 5,500 appeals.
•Taxpayers have been advised to file their appeals well before the revised deadline to avoid last-minute congestion.
