Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on June 29, 2026, issued a notification regarding revision of tariff value tables in relation to palm oil, gold and areca nuts.

The following has been stated:

The CBIC has amended Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) by substituting Table-1, Table-2 and Table-3 prescribing tariff values under section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962. The revised tables cover tariff values for crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, palmolein, crude soybean oil, brass scrap, gold, silver and areca nuts.

Further, it states that the tariff values for all these notified commodities remain unchanged despite the substitution of the tables. The notification shall come into force with effect from June 30, 2026.
