The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) on June 18, 2026, issued a notification regarding an anti-dumping duty investigation concerning imports of “Methyl Acetoacetate” originating in or exported from Switzerland.
The following has been stated:-
•The investigation was initiated based on an application by Laxmi Organic Industries Limited alleging that imports of Methyl Acetoacetate (MAA) from Switzerland were being dumped in the Indian market, causing material injury to the domestic industry.
•After examining responses, importing data, and conducting verification, the Authority found that the Swiss exporter, Arxada AG, exported the product at dumped prices with a significant dumping margin, leading to price undercutting, suppression of domestic prices, declining production, sales, profitability, and rising inventories for Indian producers.
•The Authority also concluded that no other factors were responsible for the injury and that both the dumping and injury margins were significant.
•However, since Arxada AG, the sole Swiss producer and exporter, offered a price undertaking to raise its export prices to the non-injurious price level, the Authority accepted the undertaking, considering it sufficient to eliminate the injury and to be in the public interest.
