The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) on June 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding the Nationwide Implementation of the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G] Act, 2025.
The following has been stated:-
•The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G] Act, 2025 comes into force across rural India from July 01, 2026, increasing the statutory rural wage employment guarantee from 100 days to 125 days per eligible household.
•The Government has allocated an interim ₹95,692.31 crore to States and Union Territories to ensure uninterrupted implementation, timely wage payments, and a smooth transition under the new framework.
•The Act aims to strengthen rural livelihoods through durable asset creation, natural resource management, rural infrastructure, women's empowerment, and technology-enabled governance, with Gram Panchayats playing a central role.
•The national launch of the Mission will be held on July 02, 2026, in Tirupati, where beneficiary cards will be distributed, and the Mission will be formally launched.
