The Government of Punjab, on May 25, 2026, issued a notification regarding the revision of Minimum Piece Rates for Brick Kiln Workers.
The following has been stated:-
•The Government of Punjab has revised the minimum piece-rate wages for brick kiln workers under the Code on Wages, 2019, effective May 01, 2026, following recommendations of the State Advisory Board.
•The notification prescribes updated rates for various categories of brick kiln work, including brick and tile moulding (Pathera), loading (Bharaiwala), truck trolley loading/unloading, kiln operations, and brick extraction.
•It also provides additional payments based on transportation distance for loading activities and specifies higher daily wages for the Mistris supervising brick-burning batches.
•The revised rates are intended to ensure fair remuneration for different categories of brick kiln workers across the state.
