The UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu on June 30, 2026, issued the Viksit Bharat—Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Scheme, UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
The following has been stated:-
•The Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Scheme came into force in Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu on July 1, 2026, guaranteeing 125 days of unskilled wage employment per financial year to registered rural households, along with timely wage payments and unemployment allowance where applicable.
•The scheme adopts a convergence-based planning approach through Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans (VGPP), using digital tools, GIS mapping, and PM Gati Shakti to create rural infrastructure in areas such as water conservation, roads, livelihoods, and disaster resilience.
•It provides special protections for vulnerable groups, including women, persons with disabilities, and transgender individuals, while aiming for at least one-third female participation.
•As a 100% Centrally Sponsored Scheme, the Central Government bears all wage, material, and administrative costs, with implementation overseen by designated UT and district authorities.
•The scheme emphasizes transparency through biometric attendance, geo-tagged project monitoring, mandatory social audits, and a complete prohibition on the use of contractors for works undertaken under the Act.
It shall come into force on July 01, 2026.
