The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on June 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding the downward Rate Revision for Item No. 2456 under DESIC RC156 of approved pharmaceutical firm M/s AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited.
The following has been stated:-
•The Directorate General, ESIC has approved a downward rate revision for Item No. 2456 (Osimertinib 80 mg tablets – Brand: Tagrisso 80 mg) supplied by AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited under DGESIC Rate Contract (RC-156).
•The revised rate has been made effective from May 01, 2026, with a marginal reduction in the per-tablet and per-pack prices.
•All DDOs have been instructed to recover any excess amount paid for supply orders placed on or after May 01, 2026, by adjusting it against the firm's subsequent bills and maintaining proper records.
•The amendment has been issued at the request of the firm, while the approved composition, quality, strength, and packaging of the drug remain unchanged and must continue to comply with the applicable standards under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
•The responsibility for reconciliation and recovery of the revised rates rests with the respective competent authorities and DDOs.
