The Government of Gujarat, on June 30, 2026, issued the Viksit Bharat—Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Scheme, Gujarat, 2026.
The following has been stated:-
•The Government of Gujarat has notified the "Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Scheme, Gujarat, 2026," which officially came into force on July 01, 2026.
•Designed to align with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, the scheme guarantees a minimum of 125 days of unskilled wage employment per financial year to eligible rural households.
•Project planning will follow a decentralized bottom-up approach through "Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans" (VGPP), leveraging GIS tools, PM Gati Shakti, and digital public infrastructure.
•Daily wages must be disbursed weekly or bi-weekly through individual bank accounts, with a mandated 0.05% daily compensation penalty for payments delayed beyond 15 days.
•To preserve agricultural productivity, the policy strictly prohibits executing scheme works during peak farming seasons while offering robust medical and financial safeguards for worksite accidents.
It shall come into force on July 01, 2026.
