The Department of Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development, Gujarat, on May 26, 2026, issued a notification regarding an increase in Panchayat Cess Rate for Valsad District.
The following has been stated:-
•The Government of Gujarat has increased the Panchayat cess under Section 191 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993, for areas under the jurisdiction of the District Panchayat, Valsad.
•Based on the District Panchayat's resolution and State Government approval, the cess rate has been revised from 200 paise to 300 paise.
•The revised cess rate is effective from August 01, 2025, to July 31, 2030.
•This revision replaces the earlier cess rate of 200 paise, which was applicable up to July 31, 2025.
