The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on June 26, 2026, issued the Draft Greenhouse Gases Emission Intensity Target (Amendment) Rules, 2025, to amend the Greenhouse Gases Emission Intensity Target Rules, 2025.
The following has been stated:-
•The amendment to the Greenhouse Gases Emission Intensity Target Rules, 2025 inserts a Third Schedule specifying baseline production, baseline GHG emission intensity (2023–24), and emission intensity targets for compliance years 2025–26 and 2026–27.
•The schedule lists each obligated entity along with its name, address, registration number, baseline equivalent major product output, and applicable GHG emission intensity reduction targets.
Objections or suggestions, if any, may be submitted within 60 days from July 02, 2026.
