Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Gujarat, on June 22, 2026, issued an order amending the Government Order dated December 30, 2023, issued under the Gujarat Prohibition Act, 1949, along with its subsequent amendment orders dated April 15, 2025 and December 20, 2025. The amendment has been issued in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 139 of the Act.

The amendment modifies Exemption No. (2) of the existing Government Order by extending the scope of the exemption. Specifically, it adds an exemption from the provisions of clauses (b) and (c) of Rule 4 of the Bombay Foreign Liquor and Rectified Spirit (Transport) Fees Rules, 1954, in addition to the exemptions already available under the earlier orders.

Accordingly, the beneficiaries covered under Exemption No. (2) of the Government Order will also be exempt from the transport fee requirements prescribed under clauses (b) and (c) of Rule 4 of the Bombay Foreign Liquor and Rectified Spirit (Transport) Fees Rules, 1954, with effect from the date of publication of the amendment order.
