The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) on July 01, 2026, issued notification regarding the Employer Contribution Rate of 8.33% Notified for Pension Fund under Employees’ Pension Scheme, 2026.
The Central Government, under the Code on Social Security, 2020, has notified the employer’s contribution rate to the Pension Fund at 8⅓% of the wages payable to employees. This contribution is to be made monthly by employers in respect of their employees.
This notification is linked to the implementation of the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 2026, and comes into effect from June 29, 2026, the date of commencement of the scheme. It is issued without prejudice to the earlier notification dated May 3, 2023.
Accordingly, employers are required to contribute 8.33% of employees’ wages to the Pension Fund as part of their statutory obligations under the new pension framework.
