CDSL notified regarding the Non Charging of AMC in Demat Accounts Consisting of Illiquid, Suspended, or Delisted Securities

Secretarial ComplianceThe Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on July 06, 2026, notified regarding the Non-Charging of AMC in Demat Accounts Consisting of Illiquid, suspended, or Delisted Securities.

The following has been stated:

• CDSL has reiterated its instructions to Depository Participants (DPs) regarding the non-levy of Annual Maintenance Charges (AMC) on demat accounts that are in "To be Closed" status and hold only illiquid, suspended, or delisted securities, in continuation of Communiqué No. CDSL/OPS/DP/POLCY/2025/661 dated September 30, 2025. 

• To facilitate compliance, CDSL has shared DP-wise lists of eligible Beneficial Owner (BO) IDs in the respective DP billing folders under the file name “BLNG<<DP ID>>NO_AMC_ISINS_06072026.tar”, based on security status information received from stock exchanges. 

• DPs are required to review the list and ensure that AMC is not charged to such eligible BO accounts in accordance with the conditions specified in the September 30, 2025 communiqué. If no eligible accounts exist for a DP, no file will be available in its billing folder.
