The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on July 07, 2026, notified regarding the Aadhaar Authentication for Availing Online Transport Services through Parivahan and mParivahan Platforms.
The following has been stated:
• The Ministry has notified the use of voluntary Aadhaar authentication for accessing online transport services through the Parivahan portal and mParivahan application under the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020, superseding the earlier notification dated September 16, 2022.
• The notification covers 100 online services relating to learner’s licences, driving licences, vehicle registration, permits, fitness, vehicle scrapping, challans, and other transport-related services. Individuals without Aadhaar may continue to avail these services in physical form by submitting alternative identity documents as prescribed under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
• The notification aims to promote good governance, facilitate seamless digital service delivery, and improve ease of access for citizens, and comes into effect from July 08, 2026.
