The Government of Maharashtra, on July 03, 2026, issued the Maharashtra Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Bill, 2026.
The following has been stated:-
•The Bill mandates the registration, regulation, and inspection of clinical establishments in Maharashtra to ensure compliance with minimum healthcare standards.
•It excludes establishments run by the Armed Forces, government authorities, and psychiatric asylums from its scope.
•All clinical establishments must provide emergency stabilization during the Golden Hour, irrespective of a patient's financial status.
•The Bill also requires transparent display of registration certificates, treatment charges, and protects patient rights, including informed consent, privacy, and access to medical records.
•Additionally, it introduces a provisional registration system followed by a permanent registration valid for five years
