Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on July 08, 2026, notified regarding the fixation of retail prices for 39 new drug formulations.

The following has been stated:

• NPPA, in exercise of powers under Paragraphs 5, 11 and 15 of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO, 2013), has fixed the retail prices of 39 new drug formulations, exclusive of GST, covering medicines used for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, infections, ophthalmic conditions, respiratory disorders, cancer, and other therapeutic categories. 

• The notification specifies the maximum retail price applicable to the respective manufacturers and marketing companies, while permitting other manufacturers launching the same new drugs within 12 months of the notification to price them at or below the notified ceiling, subject to filing Form-IA on IPDMS 2.0. 

• Manufacturers are also required to issue Form V price lists; retailers shall prominently display the notified prices, and any overcharging will attract recovery of the excess amount with interest.
