The Ministry of Textiles on July 08, 2026, notified the withdrawal of raw jute stock holding restrictions.
The Ministry has withdrawn, with immediate effect, the raw jute stock holding restrictions that were imposed through a series of notifications issued between September 24, 2025, and April 20, 2026, under Clause 6(1)(iii) and Clause 5 of the Jute and Jute Textiles Control Order, 2016. The earlier orders had required raw jute balers, traders, dealers, agencies, and stockists to maintain nil stock, while jute mills and manufacturing units were permitted to hold raw jute only up to 45 days' consumption.
The restrictions have now been withdrawn in view of the commencement of the new jute season and the expected market conditions for raw jute.
