The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on July 08, 2026, issued a notification regarding the grant of DPCO Price Control Exemption to PNEUBEVAX 14 Vaccine.
The following has been stated:-
•The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has granted M/s Biological E Limited an exemption under Paragraphs 32(i) and 32(ii) of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013, for its Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Conjugate Vaccine (PNEUBEVAX 14).
•The exemption has been approved on the basis of the vaccine's patented status and innovation, following the Authority's decision in its 148th meeting held on July 07, 2026.
•The exemption will remain valid for five years from the commencement of commercial marketing or production in India, or until the expiry of the Indian patent, whichever is earlier.
•The company must notify NPPA of the commercial launch, PTR, and MRP details, and comply with applicable pricing requirements once the exemption period ends.
