Secretarial ComplianceThe Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on July 03, 2026, issued the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Venture Capital Investors) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026, further to amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Venture Capital Investors) Regulations, 2000.

The following has been stated:

• They shall come into force on the one hundred eightieth day from the date of publication of these regulations in the Official Gazette, i.e., January 6, 2027.

• The amendment revises the fee structure from US Dollar-denominated fees to Indian Rupee equivalents payable in eligible foreign exchange. The amendment removes the requirement to pay the registration fee at the time of application, requiring it instead before the grant of the certificate of registration. Registration, renewal, and late fees have been revised to ₹2,30,000, ₹9,000, ₹500, and ₹15.
