Labour ComplianceThe Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) on July 09, 2026, specifies Form for Notice of Initial Medical Examination under OSHWC Rules on July 2026.

The Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Central) Rules, 2026, has specified the prescribed form for issuing a notice of initial medical examination. This has been done in exercise of powers under Rule 111(1) of the said rules to standardize the process of medical examination for workers in mines.

The notification mandates that employers must issue this prescribed notice to persons who are required to undergo an initial medical examination. Additionally, the employer is responsible for forwarding the notice to the designated medical examination authority, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The applicability of this requirement extends to all mines, making it compulsory for employers across the mining sector to follow the specified format and procedure. This ensures uniformity, transparency, and proper health monitoring of workers at the initial stage of employment.
