Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Ministry of Finance (MoF), on July 14, 2026, issued a notification regarding preferential customs duty rates for eligible goods imported from the United Kingdom under the India–UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA). 

The following has been stated:

The notification provides reduced rates of Basic Customs Duty (BCD), Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess (AIDC), and Health Cess for specified goods listed in Tables I, II, and III, including tariff rate quota (TRQ) provisions for certain products. The concessional duty benefits are available only if the importer establishes that the goods are of United Kingdom origin in accordance with the Customs (Administration of Rules of Origin under Trade Agreements) Rules, 2020 and other notified requirements.
