The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), on July 6, 2026, notified amendments to several Indian Standards under the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. The amendments include updates to standards relating to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), radio disturbance and immunity measuring apparatus, and electric vehicle conductive charging systems.
The notified amendments cover IS/CISPR 32:2015 (Electromagnetic Compatibility of Multimedia Equipment – Emission Requirements), IS 10052 (Part 1/Sec 6):2022 (EMC Antenna Calibration), IS 14700 (Part 4/Sec 24):2018 (Test Methods for Protective Devices for HEMP Conducted Disturbance), and IS 17017 (Part 24):2021 (Digital Communication between DC Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment and Electric Vehicle for DC Charging Control).
The amendments were established on July 6, 2026, and the corresponding standards without these amendments will remain in force until January 5, 2027, after which compliance with the amended standards will apply.
