The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on July 15, 2026, introduced Loan Against Securities (LAS) Module In Easiest.
Investors holding demat accounts with CDSL can initiate pledge requests through digital platforms of participating banks or NBFCs to avail loans against securities (LAS). Once initiated, these requests are routed to the respective Depository Participant (DP) for approval of pledge creation.
DPs are required to process such requests through their “easiest” login and complete approval or rejection on the same day. They also have the option to enable auto-approval for pledge transactions for specific beneficial owner (BO) accounts. In case of rejection, DPs must provide the reason, while transaction reason codes will continue as per the existing framework.
All approved LAS pledge transactions will be reflected in standard depository reports such as DP97-COD, DP37-Pledge Master, and DPC9 Transaction-cum-Holding reports. Detailed procedures are provided in Annexure A.
