Industry Specific ComplianceThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on July 17, 2026, issued a circular regarding the Special Rupee Vostro Accounts (SRVAs).

The following has been stated:-

•The RBI has consolidated and rationalised the guidelines on Special Rupee Vostro Accounts (SRVAs), superseding its earlier circulars on INR-based international trade settlement.

•Authorised Dealer (AD) banks may open SRVAs for overseas branches or foreign banks to facilitate cross-border trade, as well as all permissible current and capital account transactions under FEMA.

•SRVAs may be funded through inward remittances, transfers from eligible INR accounts, and proceeds from permissible transactions, with debt investments governed by RBI's debt investment directions.

•The revised directions take immediate effect, and AD banks must comply with FEMA documentation, reporting requirements, and update SRVA details in the FEDAI directory.
