Secretarial ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange (NSE) on July 16, 2026, issued a clarification on Digital Accessibility Compliance for Trading Members under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

The following has been stated:

• NSE has issued a clarification on the implementation of SEBI's Digital Accessibility Guidelines under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, to ensure uniform compliance by Trading Members (TMs). Standard digital platforms used across multiple TMs without accessibility-impacting customisation may rely on an IAAP-certified Accessibility Audit Report provided by the software vendor, supported by a covering letter and validated through the System Audit process. However, customised or in-house applications, including websites, mobile trading apps, back-office systems, and e-KYC platforms, shall undergo an independent accessibility audit by an IAAP-certified accessibility professional.

• The circular further clarifies that vendors are not under any regulatory obligation to obtain or provide Accessibility Audit Reports, and Trading Members may choose to appoint their own auditors. Irrespective of the audit source, the responsibility for ensuring compliance, implementing remediation measures, and adhering to accessibility standards remains solely with the concerned Trading Members.

• As per the SEBI circular, Final Accessibility Audit Reports for all digital platforms shall be submitted to NSE by July 31, 2026, with the submission process to be notified separately through the ENIT platform.
