Industry Specific ComplianceThe International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) on July 07, 2026, issued a Consultation Paper on the proposal to expand the list of Jurisdictions for Distribution Activities.

The following has been stated:-

•The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has issued a consultation paper proposing to expand the list of foreign jurisdictions from which Registered Distributors in IFSCs can distribute capital market products and services to all categories of clients, including retail investors.

•Currently, such distribution is broadly permitted for products originating from India, IFSC, and seven identified jurisdictions, while products from other jurisdictions are limited to sophisticated investors.

•Based on industry representations and global fund statistics, IFSCA has proposed adding the UAE, Singapore, Australia, and the European Union (excluding Croatia) to the permitted list to improve access to global investment products and strengthen GIFT IFSC's competitiveness.

•The proposal aligns with the existing Video Customer Identification Process (V-CIP) framework and aims to promote regulated cross-border investment opportunities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

•Public comments and suggestions on the proposed amendments have been invited until August 07, 2026.
