Secretarial ComplianceThe Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on July 17, 2026, issued a notification regarding the enhancement of Non-Disposal Undertaking (NDU) Recording and Cancellation Process.

The following has been stated:-

•CDSL has announced system enhancements for the Non-Disposal Undertaking (NDU) facility to automatically capture cancellation remarks, along with the date and time, when NDU transactions are cancelled due to non-performance of the Checker activity on the execution date. 

•Email notifications of such cancellations will be sent to the registered email IDs of both the Borrower BO and Lender BO. 

•The Communiqué also introduces revised COD file formats with new transaction codes, transaction status values, and updated fields for NDU setup, modification, termination, and related freeze cancellations. 

•These changes will improve transparency and reporting of auto-cancelled NDU transactions. 

•Depository Participants (DPs) are required to update their back-office systems as per the revised file format before the changes go live on July 31, 2026.
