Secretarial ComplianceThe Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on July 17, 2026, issued FATF Public Statements after June 2026 Plenary.

Depository Participants (DPs) are advised to take note of the FATF Public Statements issued after the June 2026 Plenary, as shared by SEBI vide email dated July 17, 2026, and in continuation of earlier CDSL communication dated March 13, 2026. These statements identify jurisdictions with strategic deficiencies in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) frameworks, along with necessary actions to be undertaken.

It is highlighted that Algeria and Namibia have been removed from FATF monitoring following the latest review. DPs are required to review the updated FATF lists and ensure timely action, including reporting compliance status to the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

Further, DPs must implement appropriate measures such as enhanced due diligence on existing clients, establishing alert mechanisms to identify transactions linked to listed jurisdictions, and taking any additional steps necessary for compliance. A written confirmation must be submitted to the Depository, confirming that required actions have been undertaken as per the prescribed template.

The advisory clarifies that while enhanced monitoring and controls are required, legitimate trade and business transactions with the identified jurisdictions should not be restricted.
