The Government of Madhya Pradesh, on July 17, 2026, notified the Madhya Pradesh Mahanagar Kshetra Niyojan Evam Vikas Adhiniyam, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The Government of Madhya Pradesh has notified the Madhya Pradesh Metropolitan Region Development Rules, 2026, under the Madhya Pradesh Mahanagar Kshetra Niyojan Evam Vikas Adhiniyam, 2025, effective from July 17, 2026.
•The Rules define key terms and specify their applicability to all notified Metropolitan Regions in the State.
•They provide for the constitution, composition, term of office, and functioning of the Metropolitan Planning Committee.
•The Rules also prescribe the procedure for elections to the Committee and the preparation and finalization of electoral rolls.
