Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Bihar on July 20, 2026, notified the Bihar Minerals (Concession, Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) (Second Amendment) Rules, 2026, further to amend the Bihar Minerals (Concession, Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules, 2019.

The following has been stated: -

•The Bihar Government has amended the Bihar Minerals (Concession, Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules, 2019 to clarify the 200-hectare concession limit as the combined area of all minor mineral leases held by the same person within the State.

•The amendments also permit the division of stone blocks into compact or contiguous blocks for settlement and revise the security deposit and refund provisions for successful and unsuccessful auction bidders. 

•Additionally, installation of crushers, including mobile crushers, has been permitted within specified distances from lease boundaries and construction sites, subject to departmental approval and prescribed conditions.

It shall come into force from July 20, 2026.
