The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MoYA&S) on July 17, 2026, issued the National Anti-Doping Rules, 2026.
They shall come into force on July 21, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The rules establish a comprehensive framework to prevent doping in sports in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code (WADA). They provide for the constitution of an independent National Board for Anti-Doping in Sports, the functioning of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), and an independent National Anti-Doping Appeal Panel.
• The rules prescribe the procedure for filing appeals, including a 21-day limitation period, and permit further appeals before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). They also lay down standards for the establishment, accreditation, and functioning of dope testing laboratories, ensuring compliance with international quality, confidentiality, and testing standards.
• Additionally, the rules define the rights and responsibilities of athletes, laboratories, and anti-doping authorities, provide special provisions for minors and protected persons, and ensure transparency, fairness, and independence in anti-doping administration and adjudication.
