The National Dental Commission (NDC) on July 14, 2026, issued a circular regarding discontinuation of the requirement of Provisional Registration for BDS students undergoing Compulsory Rotatory Internship.
The following has been stated: -
•The National Dental Commission (NDC) has discontinued the mandatory requirement of Provisional Registration for BDS students undergoing the Compulsory Rotatory Internship.
•State Dental Councils shall grant Permanent Registration after successful completion of the BDS course and internship without requiring a Provisional Registration Certificate, subject to other applicable conditions.
•Universities, dental colleges, hospitals and other stakeholders must not insist on Provisional Registration for internship or related academic, clinical or administrative purposes.
•The decision supersedes earlier Dental Council of India circulars with immediate effect to simplify procedures, ensure uniform implementation and facilitate timely registration.
