The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) on July 24, 2026, issued the Television Rating Policy, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has notified the Television Rating Policy, 2026, replacing the 2014 guidelines to strengthen transparency, independence, and accountability in TV audience measurement.
•The policy lowers the net worth requirement for rating agencies, expands metered homes, introduces technology-neutral audience measurement, mandates periodic surveys and independent audits, and establishes a graded penalty framework with governance safeguards for registration and operation.
