The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW), on July 20, 2026, notified the specification for the import of Calcium Magnesium derived from Rhodophytes (powder) under Clause 20 of the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Order, 1985. The notified specification will remain valid for a period of three years from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
The Order prescribes the quality parameters for the fertiliser, including maximum moisture content of 4.0%, minimum calcium (as CaO) content of 32.0%, minimum magnesium (as MgO) content of 3.0%, and maximum permissible limits for cadmium (0.0025%), arsenic (0.01%), and lead (0.003%) to ensure product quality and safety.
The notification enables the import of this fertiliser into India in accordance with the prescribed specifications and supports regulatory compliance for importers dealing in fertilisers under the Fertiliser (Control) Order, 1985.
